Vibe coding transforms how software gets built — and at Baqend, this transformation is already happening.

That's why we're looking for a Vibe Coding Architect (all genders) in full-time (40 hours) to shape how our non-technical teams build reliable, secure applications with AI coding tools like Claude Code.

About Your Role
Vibe coding changes who builds software. At Baqend, our Sales, Customer Success, and other non-technical teams are increasingly creating their own tools, dashboards, and automations using Claude Code and similar AI coding assistants. This is powerful — but it also creates new challenges around architecture, code quality, security, and maintainability.
That's where you come in. As our Vibe Coding Architect, you are the bridge between our engineering standards and our non-technical teams' growing ability to build software. You design the guardrails, shared infrastructure, and best practices that enable everyone to ship reliable, secure applications — regardless of their technical background. You're embedded in our Frontend Team but operate mostly independently, working across the entire company as an enabler, reviewer, and go-to architect for AI-assisted development.

About your potential tasks
  • AI-Assisted Development Architecture: Design and maintain the foundational setup for Claude Code projects — including CLAUDE.md conventions, MCP configs, reusable skills/plugins, and prompt engineering best practices that make AI coding tools effective and safe for non-technical users.
  • Code Review & Quality Assurance: Review AI-generated code from non-technical teams, identify architectural issues and security gaps, and refactor where needed — acting as the technical safety net for all AI-assisted development.
  • Shared Infrastructure & Tooling: Build and maintain reusable components (auth modules, DB schemas, API wrappers, deployment templates) and design Git workflows (branching strategies, PR reviews, CI gates) that keep shared projects stable and the development experience frictionless.
  • Deployment & Integration: Set up deployment pipelines (Firebase/GCP) with proper access control and monitoring, and design reliable integration patterns — scheduled data syncs, automated reporting, webhook-driven automations — with error handling and secrets management.
  • Database & Storage Design: Define data architecture decisions (Firestore vs. relational DB vs. spreadsheet), set up access control, and ensure teams can work with shared data safely.
  • Training & Enablement: Run hands-on workshops and create documentation that teaches non-technical colleagues how to use Claude Code, Git, and your shared infrastructure effectively. You don't just build — you teach others to build.

Your ticket for our spaceship

  • Strong technical foundation in software engineering — whether from a CS degree, bootcamp, or years of hands-on experience — with full-stack skills across frontend (React/TypeScript), backend (Node.js/Python), databases (SQL/NoSQL), and cloud infrastructure (GCP/Firebase preferred)
  • Hands-on experience with AI coding assistants (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar) — you understand both their power and their failure modes
  • Deep understanding of Git workflows, DevOps, and deployment — from branching models and CI gates to getting a prototype into production with authentication, monitoring, and secrets management
  • Strong grasp of web fundamentals — HTTP, browser APIs, authentication patterns (OAuth, API keys), REST API design. You can explain why a technical decision matters, not just which tool to use
  • Excellent communication skills in German and English — you work daily with non-technical colleagues and explain architectural decisions clearly, patiently, and without jargon
  • Ownership mindset — you're comfortable working independently, making architectural calls, and taking responsibility for the internal developer platform you build

About us

Baqend develops Speed Kit, a SaaS plugin solution to accelerate e-commerce websites by more than 50% within 2 days.

Baqend is a research spin-off from the University of Hamburg on the mission of building a web without loading times. The founders pioneered a novel approach to speed up the delivery of dynamic data. Speed Kit bundles years of this research in a plugin for large-scale e-commerce and brand websites, that is easily implemented by just a line of JavaScript code. Today, some of the leading European e-commerce players like Decathlon, Galeria, and BMW already rely on Speed Kit to improve their conversion rates, user experience, and SEO ranking. Since the product’s speed uplift is cleanly proven by statistically sound A/B-tests, Baqend is one of the fastest-growing SaaS companies in Germany.
